We invite English Language Arts Teachers from the USA to embark upon an exploratory journey of the literature and culture of Ireland – home to four Nobel Literary Award winners (George Bernard Shaw, William Butler Yeats, Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney).

With the city of Dublin as a backdrop and Trinity College as our venue, we will walk in the footsteps of famous writers, artists and historical figures, exploring ways of creating meaningful classroom experiences both indoors and outdoors. The National Gallery, the Book of Kells Experience, the Oscar Wilde memorial, the William Butler Yeats and Seamus Heaney exhibitions, the visit to the monastic settlement in the glacial valley of Glendalough will be part of our cultural immersion.

The course offers a mix of practical methodologies and inspiring lectures that will enrich teaching and learning in the English Language Arts classroom. The lively Irish atmosphere, with its friendly locals, charming pubs, and vibrant arts scene, will provide the perfect setting for teachers to unwind, connect, and share their experiences.

This course is part of the Irish American Educator Initiative, which connects educators across the United States with Ireland’s rich culture, heritage, literature, and arts.
