PROGRAMME

Course aimed at teachers who wish to improve their knowledge of English (C1, C2) through the understanding of key cultural aspects of Ireland as a unique learning context.

The methodology of this course is an effective combination of workshops, seminars, project-based learning, and field projects that will help participants develop their communicative competence and explore beyond the language. Observing culture, history, and its people creates learning, motivation, and natural curiosity that invite communication.

Areas of study such as society, literature, art, traditions, history, geography, cinema, etc., will help participants to deepen their knowledge of Ireland in a multicultural European environment. Field projects related to places of archaeological, artistic, and historical interest will intensify the cultural experience of the participants. All this will affect the quality of a more informed teaching. In addition, the course offers an excellent opportunity for participants to find partners for future collaboration.

Participants must be teachers with a level of English corresponding to C1 or C2 in the Common European Framework (CEFR).

Talking to People (C1, C2): A Language and Culture course for Teachers

This Erasmus+ training course in Dublin was a truly inspiring and meaningful professional development experience. It offered a perfect balance between theory and practice, combining classroom-based learning with cultural immersion and real-world exploration.
The structure of the course was clear and effective: every morning session provided theoretical input, practical tools, and group discussions, while the afternoon field learning projects allowed us to connect what we learned with the local context.
What I appreciated most was the intercultural exchange: meeting colleagues from different countries, learning about their education systems, and discovering similarities and differences helped me broaden my perspective and feel part of a larger European teaching community.
Finally, the course reminded me that being a teacher means being a lifelong learner, open to innovation, and ready to inspire students not only with knowledge, but with values.

This course exceeded all expectations: it was well structured, with a thought-provoking,
high-level, well presented syllabus. I’ll take home new friends, new concepts, new methodologies and a newfound energy and motivation to keep teaching with energy and passion.
